There are 2 parts to the workers’ compensation policy:

Statutory benefits and Employers Liability.

If your employee is injured, he has to take statutory benefits and he can’t sue you because statutory benefits are “sole remedy”.

The Industrial Commission requires that all companies except sole proprietors, that have no employees, must have a WC policy, even if the Members of the LLC or officers of the INC are excluding themselves.

You may want to bid a job that requires that you show evidence of workers comp coverage.
